the editor takes the evening off; HTML version of HK govt. commentary on proposed amendments; Chinese art and music sources; a view of America from a liuxue sheng; and of course much more . . .

WHAT can I say? I've taken the evening off. Don't worry. I'll be back tomorrow. We'll be OK. China will be OK . . . In the mean time. . .

I've converted to HTML the "Commentary on Civil Liberties and Social Order Document", put out by the Hong Kong Government in response to the proposed changes to Hong Kong's Societies Ordinance (SO) and the Public Order Ordinance (POO). Of course, by the time I had converted the damn thing, the Hong Kong Government had put up the HTML. My HTML version is here.

AND after that why not relax a bit and explore the Asian Arts page and the Art of China Homepage---there's music, too.

CURIOUS about what Chinese foreign students think of the United States? Check out a Review of Qian's Liuxue Meiguo.

If you scroll down a bit you'll find news stories from the past three days. On the Recent News page you'll find more news on China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Archived stories are accessible from News Archive Index. This might be a good time to catch up on the news . . .
